IIS的smtp和php的mail function

我系統使用IIS6+php+mysql
想要架設phpbb討論區
但phpbb的sendmail一直無法使用
以outlook express來收發信都可以正常運作
為何在phpbb的mail system會出現
"Ran into problems sending Mail. Response: 504 5.7.4 Unrecognized
authentication type "

You should post this to phpbb forum, since smtp is working.
from the error msgs, the phpbb is unable to talk to the smtp server due to
authentication error.
yes, we can change the smtp auth, but need to know what's the config in
phpbb mail function first..
